Their steelmaking operations consist of mills, producing steel from steel scrap using electric arc furnaces, continuous casting, automated rolling mills, and downstream finishing facilities. The company seeks energetic, hardworking electricians with PLC experience to perform scheduled & unscheduled maintenance at its plant. Former service members (especially those from the Navy Nuclear program) are highly encouraged to apply as are electricians from heavy industries. The electricians work a four day on (12 hour shifts- 7am-7pm, 7pm-7am), four day off schedule. They rotate from night to day every 8 days. This is a fast paced environment where technicians are encouraged to problem solve and safety is paramount. It is a Non Union shop.
· 2+ years of hands-on experience
· Need to understand and still be an expert of basic electrical theory learned in " A" school
· Extensive high voltage systems maintenance, operation and theory, including electrode regulation
· Basic mechanical and hydraulic knowledge
· Extensive AC & DC drive experience
· Proven team player that works effectively in a group
· Effective written and verbal communication skills
Compensation & Benefits
Electricians earn an hourly wage, production bonus & monthly bonus. Most rotating shift electricians earn $70-90K a year. Complete suite of corporate benefits (Medical, dental, 401k...) are part of the package
