POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The candidate for this position will be safety oriented, extremely motivated, and must be able troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance for the mechanical equipment in the plant.  Candidates must be proficient in the basic electrical theories learned in " A" school.  They will perform mechanical, electrical and electronic repair and maintenance on equipment used in various stages of the steel production process. They will work with a variety of systems and equipment including but not limited to PLCs, high voltage electrical systems, electrical motors, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, AC/DC drives, and power distribution systems.  Employees will be direct hires for the company and will not be asked to participate in a union environment.  Employees will work rotating day and night shifts.  This equates to working approximately half of the year. 

 

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

 

All of the positions are hourly.  Starting salary will start between a grade 1-4 at 42 hours bonus (overtime is available) . Most of our candidates start as a Grade 2 or 3 and earn between $70-80K (counting production bonus-paid as part of your regular paycheck).  Employees who work at plants that consistently earn higher bonuses typically earn more.

  There will be a structured upgrade process to allow them to reach grade 8 in a timely manner if they pass the process.  They must be willing to work rotating shifts.
