The company is a US-made Energy Storage System (ESS) turn-key hardware and software supplier. Our Battery Management System (BMS), EMS and software development is performed domestically. Regardless of customers' battery system and balance of system country of origin, the company can provide control, communication and network security strategy security consistent with cyber security best practices and current executive orders.

Position Description:

The IT/OT Network Engineer will be responsible for project-based work focused on design, implementation, and maintaining networks and technologies within various environments. Common technologies used will be switches (mostly Fortinet and Hirschman), firewalls (FortiGate, Hirschman), Azure cloud and AWS cloud networking.
Job Duties • Administration and troubleshooting of switches, routers, and firewalls from multiple vendors. • Installing, configuring and supporting network equipment including next-gen UTM firewalls, routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCP • Configuring firewalls, routing and switching to maximize network efficiency and security • Cloud networking including VNet provisioning, gateway/NSG integration and WAN/VNet peering. • Monitors, diagnoses, and analyzes TCP/IP and associated protocols • Deploys edge gateways, such as IDS/IPS, email filtering and web content filtering • Deploys related technology including Microsoft Active Directory, virtualization, storage, backup, and security solutions • Triages and resolves escalations from within the infrastructure team within defined customer SLAs • Serves as the technical lead and subject matter expert on projects, overseeing the work of others and being accountable for the outcome of client projects • Monitor and control patch management system for all internal networks infrastructure • Interact with partner organizations/departments to design network or system solutions • Prepare recommendations based on monitoring results, tools analysis, and forensics. • Performing disaster recovery operations and data backups when required. • Maintaining, configuring, and monitoring virus protection software and email applications. • Conferring with network users about solving existing system problems. • Coordinating computer network access and use. • Protecting data, software, and hardware by coordinating, planning, and implementing network security measures.
Other duties as required Experience • Five years to eight years of similar or related experience. • A bachelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g. information technology certifications in lieu of a degree). • Other skills: o Previous experience including networks, PCs, data communications, firewalls, VMware virtualization technologies, Storage technologies SAN/NAS, scripting, and data organization. o Technical planning and project management. o Documentation creation, procedures and dataflow diagrams. o Ability to discuss technical issues effectively with other professionals as well as non-technical users. o Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills. o Ability to work and travel independently and use general office equipment, give speeches, and make presentations. o Preferred certifications, CCNA, MCSA, Security +, VCP.
Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of network protocols, configurations, and operations preferred • Ability to troubleshoot technical Tier 2 and 3 escalation issues and identify solutions in a fast-paced environment • Excellent communication skills, professionalism, positive attitude, and desire to learn What this role will do: • Provides primary support for the company's network and servers which includes planning, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting network and system hardware and software including patch management, Anti-virus, SIEM solution and backup. • Responsible for planning, implementing, maintaining and otherwise supporting company’s software products, wide area communications, network and systems security and access controls. • Participates in short and long-range planning for the department to select and utilize appropriate technologies to meet the evolving needs of the company and its members. • Oversees the maintenance of hardware and software at the company's disaster recovery site and provides technical support for disaster recovery testing. • Directs significant special projects as required. • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
