Job Description:

As a Customer Support Engineer, you install and service automated material loading, unloading and transfer devices on Punch Press, Laser, Press Brake and Shearing equipment at Customer facilities.  Essential Functions:  Proficient in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and optical systems.  Able to precisely follow layout drawings and blue prints used in the installation of equipment.  Maintenance of electronic systems (PLC’s experience a plus).  Complete status reports on a daily basis and expense reports on a weekly basis.  Provides strong customer support and maintains positive relationships.  Managing the total equipment process at customer site to include corrective and preventative maintenance.  Technical support and training to service engineers and customers, onsite and over the phone.  The Customer Support Engineer reports to the Area Service Manager.

Skills:  A minimum of two years technical school, military technical training or equivalent work experience required.  Ability to analyze and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical systems.  Ability to use hand tools, Volt/Ohm Meter, Oscilloscope, Calipers, DMM.  Working knowledge of computers and Windows OS.  Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings. 

Travel and Training:  During the 1st 9 Months the Customer Support Engineer will travel to HQ for training periodically and also train in the field.  The heavy travel schedule is during this time period while the CSE joins other CSEs and Area Managers onsite at customer locations to become certified on the machines.  After training, the travel will become more regional coverage. 

Compensation and Benefits: Highly competitive base salary (Plus OT).  You are considered on the clock the minute you leave your door until you return.  OT paid after 1st 8 hours in a day and 1.5x after 8 hours.  This position also includes a Monthly car allowance (Plus Mileage reimbursement), cell phone, laptop, tools, and uniform.  The Customer Support Engineer will travel overnight and will receive a per diem and all hotels directly expensed to nothing comes out of pocket.  Company offers a comprehensive benefits package to include major medical, dental, vision and 401(k).
